Do you have cerlical staff spending hours each week (or day) consolidating data into reports for distribution? This is a fairly common situation that can be totally automated and expanded with JMP scripts.
JMP Scripts can download data from a variety of sources, including ODBC/SQL databases, Excel files and text files, summarize the data and turn it into charts and graphs that can be stored as JPGs on pre-built, intranet-web pages (allowing staff to view the reports with only a web browser). The script can even send a mail message to a recipient list informing them that the reports are available and where to get them on the network.
The script can run on a PC that sits in a closet, waking up periodically to run the script.
What's really exciting about it is that the script can be easily extended to deliver more reports and variants of existing reports. So those additional reports that your VP has always wanted but could not get because it was simply too laborious to produce can now be provided, automatically, with JMP scripts.
This example, which has been running hassle-free for years, went a bit farther - it not only produced reports for general distrubution, it also produced graphs that were automatically updated on production cell displays.

This is one of the graphs that is automatically provided. Note that the x axis on this graph has been augmented to include a production cell identifier ("LP 01"), the data and time the chart was produced as well as a time horizon for the data ("Past 3 hours"). |

The script also produces a run chart for display on their production cell PC, again with the production cell identifier and time codes (some information excluded for confidentiality reasons). |
